Camp Invention is a nationally recognized summer program that provides an all-new curriculum each year, inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees, to ignite the spirit of innovation in young campers.
Camp Invention: Spark at North Valley Christian Academy offers K-6 campers an engaging, hands-on STEM experience. The program features four dynamic modules: Fur-ensics™, Make Waves™, The Infringers™, and Space Morphers™. In Fur-ensics™, campers develop detective skills by investigating mysteries with robotic capybaras, building sleuthing gadgets, and practicing forensic science techniques like analyzing DNA and fingerprints. Make Waves™ immerses children in entrepreneurship, where they conduct physics experiments, design billboard boats, and pitch product prototypes inspired by real inventors. The Infringers™ module has campers teaming up with the Innovation Force™ to solve community challenges, create wearable cryptography devices, and learn about intellectual property. Finally, in Space Morphers™, young explorers build DIY space rockets, experiment with trajectory, and design inventions for transforming a new planet's atmosphere and ecosystem for future habitation. The camp aims to spark creativity, build confidence, and foster persistence and creative problem-solving skills through open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
A typical day involves campers rotating through various hands-on STEM activities, collaborating with friends, and inventing solutions to real-world challenges, with instruction led by qualified local educators.
This camp is best for curious K-6 students who enjoy hands-on challenges and want to explore STEM concepts, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills.
