About this camp

The Game and AI Camp at ASU's School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence offers middle and high school students (grades 7-10) an immersive experience in 2D game development using GameMaker. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to design characters, build game mechanics, and bring their creative ideas to life. A key focus of the camp is the integration of exciting AI tools for generating 2D images, sound effects, and music, adding a unique dimension to their games. Under the guidance of an ASU professor with extensive experience in computer graphics and game development, and supported by ASU student assistants, campers will receive step-by-step instruction and individual computer access. By the end of the two-week program, students will have developed their own original games and gained a solid introduction to both game development and creative AI technologies.
